No matter what you're feeling, there are three patterns at work that are contributing to what you're feeling - good or bad.
I picked this up from Tony Robbins while he was speaking with Theo Von on his podcast This Past Weekend.
The three patterns have to do with our body, our focus , and the language we use. It is a great self check to become aware of and fine tune to ensure you take an active part in your overall wellbeing.
I decided to craft it into a Power Acronym that could stand as a reminder to conduct this self check and take actions that could bear better emotional fruit.

Physiology
Our posture, breathing, and overall physical condition has more influence than we actually give credit to. You may think how we feel dictates what our body does but scientific studies have shown that it's just as true that our physical state has an influence on how we feel.
Controlled breathing, taking walks, exercise and a healthy diet can directly impact our mood.
Engagement
What we focus on is also important. How are you engaging with the task at hand and the people around you?
Past experience and limited information can trigger a set of responses that influence how we feel about a particular matter or person.
Even if it isn't true.
A limited focus on why something won't work or an imagined reason why someone did something may not be real.
Nevertheless, it can create real feelings that can influence what we do about it. Take care not to jump to conclusions too quickly.
Articulation
When considering the next action to take, watch your language!
This isn't about using good or bad words necessarily.
It's more about watching what we say internally and to others.
It's amazing how fast we can tell ourselves or others a story that causes us to hold firm to a belief and justify a certain feeling.
“If I share what I think, people will laugh at me!”
“I could never do that!”
These are just two examples of ways we can focus on one outcome and wrap it in language that keeps us from changing.
Result
What if other people are having the same thoughts as you?
What if you CAN do that?
If you're looking for a change in your life you will have to change something about your life.
Don't let your body, focus, or language limit you or keep you comfortable.
Growth is on the other side of your comfort zone.
Experiment with these three patterns and stay open to new possibilities.
