Today's Power Acronym was inspired by my friend J Michael Smith, an entrepreneur, traveler, community builder and all around excellent person to be around.
I recently asked for some words I could transform into Power Acronym, and he gave me BOLD.
Power Acronym 167: B.O.L.D.
Brave
I thought “belief” would be appropriate for boldness, given that if you're bold you've got to believe in yourself and what you're doing, , but remembered I used Belief in B.R.A.V.E.
At the end of the day, both belief and bravery make up the bold.
Optimism
It follows that a bold person would have a view of the future that would lend to a positive result.
Boldness is inherently optimistic.
Love
The Bible says that love “endures all things” which sounds like a bold move to me.
Things don't always go our way so it is important when it is time for boldness, we remember the love that can carry us through.
And love, true love, requires a level of risky action taking.
You may give love but not get it in return. That doesn't mean we shouldn't give.
Love boldly.
Determination
Defined as “firmness of purpose; resolute”, determination is what brings the initial bold action to completion.
When you know your standard and know what must be done to uphold it and actually do so, that's bold determination.
Be so bold
