Uphill climbs are not for the faint of heart.
The only way to the top is sheer will.
We all have a metaphorical climb ahead of us - at work and home.
Life is anything but flat land.
Walking helps with the heart rate but stopping won’t get you to the summit.
Slowing to a stop mid-climb is a rough place to be.
Did you know the word “mediocre” comes from the Latin “medius”or middle, and “ocris” or rugged mountain?
Stopping the climb is the definition of mediocre.
So I invite you to continue the C.L.I.M.B. - despite the pain, uncertainty, and hard work.
Power Acronym 174: C.L.I.M.B.
Continue Leaning Into More Belief
This morning I started my run with fellow Longview Loopers Mark & John for a 5.5-mile route. They had already completed 5 miles before I arrived for the 6:00 am group run so that gave me the opportunity hold pace with them for the first 5k of my run.
As it turned out, running with them lead me to beating my previous 5k personal record by 21 seconds.
This experience increased my belief in how fast I could go if I set my goal to beat my best previous time more consistently.
Isn’t that what we’re here to do, after all?
Unless you're racing for competition, the way your result compares to someone else's experience doesn't matter. It's you vs. you at the end of the day.
The C.L.I.M.B. is more about the effort to get 1% better each day. 1% further.
1% more loving.
1% more patient.
1% more responsible.
1% more accountable.
1% more courageous.
1% healthier.
1% stronger.
One step at a time.
Continuous forward movement.
What does your peak look like?
