Chelsey and I had a picnic today at Martin Creek State Park.
Our corner of Texas is under a heat advisory over the next few days - a sign that summer is just beginning to heat up. We worked up a bit of a sweat during the 1-mile trail loop but the tall pine trees provided plenty of shade and enjoy the outdoors.
We sat lakeside to the slow movement of clouds and kayaks while enjoying a sandwich, some fruit, and homegrown tomatoes from Chelseyâs garden.
S.P.F, or Sun Protection Factor is one of the earliest acronyms I came into contact with. My family and I spent a lot of summers on Lake Tawakoni growing up.
But thatâs not the S.P.F. I want to share with you today.
Power Acronym 175: S.P.F.
Strong Present Focus
Contrast todayâs time in a beautiful State Park with my experience replacing a broken smartphone, going over my options to see how quickly I could get a working device that so much of our lives revolves around.
Itâs not the device per se, but everything and everyone it connects us to.
Replacing my phone wasnât a terrible experience, but the stark modern cellphone stores and cold technology were a sharp contrast to my time with Chelsey, Jack, and Jig in nature.
I recently heard Tony Robbins share âWhere Focus Goes Energy Flowsâ.
His point was to emphasize the importance of focusing our mind on the experience we desire to have.
Today could have been a day about the stress of getting reconnected to the internet again.
Or it could have been a day full of gratitude to live in a beautiful place with a wonderful wife to go to the park with.
Where is your Strong Present Focus?
On what you donât have? Or do have?
Why you donât have the life you want?
Or the actions that must be done to achieve the life you want?
S.P.F.
Apply liberally.
